We’re back at The Bristol Hi-Fi Show - the UK’s biggest hi-fi fest - with a focus on the smallest products in our range. Stand 7b on the ground floor is the venue for the micro-engineered brilliance of Nagaoka’s range of phono cartridges. An original influencer in the analogue sphere, Nagaoka today manufactures over 90 percent of the world’s bonded diamond styli while championing its innovative lightweight ‘Moving Permalloy’ (MP) cartridge technology. As an alternative to Moving Magnet design, Nagaoka’s MP technology employs a tiny piece of magnetic metal dubbed ‘Permalloy’, which is extremely light, allowing a more accurate scanning of the record groove. Six ‘MP’ cartridge models and two new 80th anniversary ‘JT’ (JewelTone) series MM designs are on show together with Nagaoka’s range of styli, interchangeable with all cartridge bodies for easy upgrade.
